- First Director meeting was held on 4 Aug 1987 to declare the formation of a new club to be named.
September, 1987
- Formal approval was received from Rotary International on 29 September 1987. The new club was the 24th club in District 3450 then known as District 345.

Description:
The Rotary Club of Ampang (RCA) received its Charter on the 27th June 1984. RCA was the vision of Dr Paul C.K. Lee, the President of the Rotary Club of Pudu , IPP Dr Lee Hoo Teong and PP K.B. Lee, the District Governor's Special Representative. Their efforts to widen the Rotary net and share Rotary, inspired 34 men from different professional background to take the challenge. The Rotary Club of Ampang was born.
